NEW HOUSE WHO DIS? What steps to take after closing on your new home ...

Step 1: Celebrate - pop open the good champagne and order your fave takeout

Step 2: Do a deep cleaning (or hire cleaners) - wipe down shelving inside cabinets, clean the floors, run the dishwasher, and wipe down refrigerator shelves - all the things.

Step 3: Change your address and set up utilities

Step 4: Change the locks (and invest in a Ring Doorbell while you're at it)!

Step 5: Know where the shut-off valves are (take note at your home inspection for this one)!

Step 6: Create a seasonal home maintenance checklist (or check here on the 1st of every month to save the one I create)!

Step 7: Go to Target - you'll need all the essentials like paper towels, plates, napkins, wipes, towels, cleaning products, hangers, etc.

Step 8: Go to Home Depot - I don't think it's possible to avoid this as a new homeowner! You'll inevitably need something!

Step 9: Take a few days off to unpack and enjoy your new home

Step 10: Throw a housewarming party to celebrate!
